Thaedros Subclasses

Barbarian: Path of the World Breaker

Primal warriors who channel the raw, destructive forces that reshaped Thaedros itself.

Path of the Worldbreaker

Barbarians who walk the Path of the Worldbreaker channel Thaedros' chaotic magic through their Rage, becoming living conduits for the wild arcane storms that scar the world. Their fury tears at reality itself, unleashing surges of unpredictable power that reshape the battlefield with every strike.

Subclass Features

Level 3: Arcane Surge

When you activate your Rage, wild magic courses through your body and weapons, granting the following benefits:

Unstable Empowerment: Your melee weapon and unarmed attacks deal an additional 1d6 force damage while your Rage is active.

Chaos Points: You gain a pool of Chaos Points equal to your Rage Damage bonus + your Constitution modifier (minimum of 2). You regain all expended Chaos Points when you finish a Long Rest.

Invoke Chaos: While your Rage is active, you can use your action to spend 1 Chaos Point and roll on the Wild Magic Surge table. The effect is centered on you or a target you can see within 30 feet (your choice) and applies immediately. Using this action ends your Rage at the end of your turn as if you had not made an attack.

Level 6: Stormbound Fury

Your connection to wild magic strengthens when you stand at the heart of its storms.

Wild Nexus: While in a region affected by a wild magic swell or within a wild magic storm, your Rage damage bonus increases by +2, and you regain 1 Chaos Point at the start of each of your turns (up to your maximum).

Chaos Ward: While your Rage is active, you have Advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. Additionally, when you succeed on a saving throw against a spell or magical effect, you can spend 1 Chaos Point to roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, with the effect centered on the spell's caster or the source of the magical effect (if applicable).

Level 10: Fractured Reality

Your Rage bends the very fabric of reality, making you unpredictable and terrifying in battle.

Warping Blows: Once per turn when you hit a creature with a melee attack while raging, you can spend 1 Chaos Point to teleport. Roll a d6. On a 2, 4, or 6, your target teleports up to 15 feet to an unoccupied location you can see. On a 1, 3, or 5, you teleport up to 15 feet to an unoccupied location you can see. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.

Unraveling Strike: When you score a critical hit with a melee attack while raging, you can spend 2 Chaos Points to roll on the Wild Magic Surge table twice and choose which effect occurs.

Level 14: Worldbreaker's Ascension

Your body is now a conduit for Thaedros' untamed magic, allowing you to unleash chaos on a scale beyond mortal comprehension.

Shatter the Veil: When you activate your Rage, you can choose to enter a heightened state of magic-infused destruction. When you do:

  • Your melee attacks ignore Resistance to nonmagical damage
  • When a creature hits you with a melee attack, it must roll 1d8 and takes 2d6 damage of the corresponding type according to the table below
  • You can spend Chaos Points to invoke additional effects:
    • Wild Surge (1 point): Roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, centered on you or a creature within 30 feet
    • Chaos Strike (2 points): Your next melee attack this turn deals an additional 4d6 force damage
    • Reality Tear (3 points): Choose a creature within 30 feet. It must succeed on a Charisma saving throw (DC 10 + your proficiency bonus) or be teleported to an unoccupied space you can see within 60 feet. You can expend addititional Chaos Points to increase the save DC by 2 for each point spent beyond the first three.

Worldbreaker's Echo: The first time you drop to 0 hit points while Shatter the Veil is active and you don't die outright, you can spend all remaining Chaos Points (minimum of 3) to trigger a Wild Magic Surge centered on yourself and immediately regain hit points equal to five times your Barbarian level. Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a Long Rest.
