Warforged

Model Gedrival

Towering bastions of endurance built to withstand the harshest conditions and carry the burdens of labor, war, and civilization.

Model Gedrival

Built for endurance, the Gedrival warforged are the unyielding foundation upon which civilizations could be raised. Constructed from dense metal and specially treated wood, they are broad-shouldered, powerful, and designed to endure immense strain. Their strength is rivaled only by their durability, and while their original purpose remains unknown, their capabilities suggest they once bore the burdens of labor, war, and construction.

Since their awakening, Gedrival models have found their skills in high demand. In the frontier regions of Yldan, where machinery is scarce and conditions are harsh, Gedrival warforged have become indispensable builders. They have reinforced bridges spanning perilous ravines, erected fortresses where stone was scarce, and carried supplies where beasts of burden faltered. Some have even taken up arms as defenders, their iron frames standing as living bulwarks against the dangers of Thaedros.

Despite their imposing presence, most Gedrival warforged are contemplative and methodical, taking pride in their work and approaching tasks with a quiet patience. One Gedrival model, known as Ironpost, now serves as the representative of their kind in Yldan's parliament—stoic, dependable, and unwavering in their advocacy for both warforged and mortal alike.

Racial Traits

Special Abilities

Construct Resilience You do not require food, drink, or air, and you do not sleep. Instead, you enter a diagnostic state for 4 hours, during which you remain aware of your surroundings and cannot be surprised.

Integrated Repair Systems You cannot be healed by magical healing. Instead, you are proficient with Tinker's Tools and can use them to repair yourself. Once per short rest, you can restore 2d6 hit points. Acid damage cannot be repaired in this way.

Mending Repair The Mending cantrip can be used to repair your frame, restoring 1d6 hit points at 1st level, 2d6 at 5th level, 3d6 at 11th level, and 4d6 at 17th level. You can receive repairs this way a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1) per long rest. While effective for superficial damage, excessive mending risks affecting your inner workings.

Acid Vulnerability When you take Acid damage while unarmored, your maximum hit points are reduced by half the damage taken until you undergo repairs.

Durability Frame You gain an additional 2 hit points per level above those granted by your Constitution modifier.

Reinforced Chassis Your body is built for endurance and protection. Your base AC is increased by 1, even when unarmored.

Shutdown Protocol At 0 hit points, you do not die but instead shut down. Unless your eldrite core is destroyed, you can be repaired. Destroying your core is considered permanent death, though a level 10 artificer may attempt to rebuild it.

Basic Traits

Armor Integration You do not wear armor normally. Instead, you incorporate it into your frame. It takes one hour to don or remove armor, and it cannot be forcefully removed.

Languages You can speak, read, and write Common and one additional language of your choice.
